National Division II Christian Homeschool Association

NDIICHA Tournament Rules:

*Tournament games will be played under NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) rules with some exceptions for uniforms (see below).

*The team on the top of the bracket will be home team.

*The home team is responsible to lead prayer at center court prior to the starting
time of each game.

*The home team bench is located to the right of the scorers table as it faces the court.

*Each team will be required to provide 1 Scorekeeper for every game they play in.
The home team scorekeeper will be responsible to run the score clock, unless covered by tournament staff. The visiting team scorekeeper will be responsible for the official tournament scorebook. The first priority of the scorebook keeper is the official tournament scorebook, not their team scorebook. Teams may switch scorekeeper responsibilities by mutual consent.

*The home team will wear their light colored uniforms. In situations where teams only
have one uniform color, the head coach needs to contact the opposing team at least one hour prior to the game to make sure opposing team is aware of their need to wear the opposite color uniform. Uniform colors will be posted in the program.  There will be no penalty assessed for uniforms that are not the correct color.

*Junior High: four- six minute quarters; High School: four- eight minute quarters.
*Game ball size:  28.5 ball - Junior High and Girls Varsity
29.5 ball - High School Boys

*Every team needs to be at their assigned gym 30 minutes before their scheduled
starting game time, suited up and ready to play.

* Games will not begin prior to scheduled time. Time between games will be 12 minutes and 8 minutes during halves. If games are running 20 or more minutes behind schedule, only then may times be shortened to 10 minutes between games and 5 minutes during halves. Overtime shall consist of two- three (3) minute periods and one (1) timeout for senior and junior high teams. If the game is still tied after the second overtime, there shall be a one (1) minute break, after which there shall be a jump ball and play will go into "sudden death" overtime, with the first team to score winning the game.

*At anytime in the 4th Quarter, if a team is 30 points ahead, there is to be a running
clock for the remainder of the game. Clock stops only for time-outs and injuries.

*For player safety, no basketballs will be allowed to be dribbled along the sidelines
during game play.

*Only players with immediate upcoming games are allowed on the court.

*Scorekeeper: Have officials sign the scorebook before each game.
